Discrimination: unjustified negative or harmful action toward a member of a group simply because of his or her membership in that group. This is a chilling scene from the movie crash that summarizes discrimination at its worst. A couple is stopped for no apparent reason, a man is forced out of his car, and his wife is sexually assaulted in front of him by the police officer. He is threatened with a felony charge, one that he is innocent of, and is made to pretend nothing has happened. Like its states in the book
If you are a police officer and you have the stereotypical belief that African Americans are more violent than whites, this might affect your behavior toward a specific black man you are trying to arrest.
